West Lakes

West Lakes is a beachside suburb of Adelaide , it is 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the city centre.
It was created about 25 years ago and has a huge man made lake that meanders through the whole suburb.

The lake is used for boating , (no power boats ), windsurfing , canoeing , swimming and fishing. Competitive rowing and Dragon Boat Racing are frequent occurences. The majority of the lake is surrounded by public land and can be walked around.

Westfield shopping mall is only 5 minutes away from Lake Shore Apartment , this newly renovated mall has numerous shops , cafes , restaurants and cinemas.Adjacent to the shopping mall are doctors , chemists , health clubs , more restaurants and a large hotel.

The AAMI Football Stadium , home of the Adelaide Crows and Port Power is , again , only 5 minutes walk from Lake Shores Apartment.

Tennyson beach , which is very quiet is only 2 minutes drive away , while Grange and Henley Beach jetties are 5 minutes drive away , both places are very popular , due to the beach , jetties and cafes.

Semaphore , with its carnival and retro shops , Port Adelaide with its wharves and history , and Glenelg with its shops and cafe culture are all easily accessible from West Lakes
